Hello friends, it’s time for a new edition of Vine Arts Wine Club! We’ve been hard at work putting together this months selection of wines. In this months bag we have everything from a crisp and refreshing Picpoul de Pinet, to a juicy and robust Zinfandel from a legendary Californian winery.
We hope you enjoy the wines! If you would like any additional information about any of the wines or grapes, or if you have any general wine questions you would like to know about, then please drop us a line. Cheers!
I got off the plane in Nelson (a modestly sized town at the northern tip of New Zealand’s South Island) after a two-hour flight from Auckland. Alex Craighead, the winemaker and proprietor of Kindeli, picked me up. I was to spend the next two weeks working with him, learning his philosophy and techniques. As is the norm, we headed straight out to the vineyards.
Isn’t it great when nice people are doing something cool?
Calgary’s newest cidery, Lekker Cider, headed up by husband and wife team , Elizabeth & Brendan, is making clean, fresh styles of cider using Pacific Northwest apples and a variety of yeasts to achieve unique, yet subtle, flavour profiles. Since they’re such lovely people making equally as lovely cider, we asked them to tell us a little about themselves. Here is their story!
Hello all, we’re back with the March edition of Vine Arts Wine Club. In this month’s bag of treats we’ve elected to include 5 red wines, rather than the usual 4 red wines. The styles range from a bright and fruit forward Pinot Noir, to an inky and juicy Georgian Saperavi that was aged in giant clay-pots. We’re also pleased to introduce a new Chardonnay from Ontario that will give Chablis a run for its money. If you would like any additional details about any of the wines, please give us a shout. Cheers!
Best of Calgary is when the city has the opportunity to speak up and vote for some of their favourite small businesses around town. Not only is it a great reminder of all the awesome business we have in Calgary, but it is a chance to let your favourite businesses around town know just how much you love them!
