In this feature, we let a local sommelier or wine director pick a favourite pairing off their list and tell us why it's awesome. This month Andrea Robinson of Two Penny will be leading the charge!
Hello all, we’re back with the March edition of Vine Arts Wine Club. In this month’s bag of treats we’ve elected to include 5 red wines, rather than the usual 4 red wines. The styles range from a bright and fruit forward Pinot Noir, to an inky and juicy Georgian Saperavi that was aged in giant clay-pots. We’re also pleased to introduce a new Chardonnay from Ontario that will give Chablis a run for its money. If you would like any additional details about any of the wines, please give us a shout. Cheers!
Best of Calgary is when the city has the opportunity to speak up and vote for some of their favourite small businesses around town. Not only is it a great reminder of all the awesome business we have in Calgary, but it is a chance to let your favourite businesses around town know just how much you love them!
No, we are not being lewd. We are simply suggesting that this might be the perfect wine for your Valentine’s day celebrations. Heavy Petting is a lively Pet-Nat chock full of juicy blackberry, raspberry twizzler, currant, and black plum. Fizzy, deep purple, and totally thirst quenching, this is the perfect bottle of bubbles to share with your honey.
Nights & Weekends, the concept dreamed up when Aaron Ellard was approached by the folks at Meat & Bread to fill their space in the unused evenings and weekends, is a permanent pop up that operates, you guessed it, on nights and weekends. They are open 5pm-12am Thursday through Sunday at 821 1st Street SW.
Shinobu, the Japanese word for “forbearance,” is so called because of the distillery’s goal of encapsulating the spirit of the Samurai. The first distillery in Niigata, a region known for its “Three White Treasures” (snow, rice, and sake), Shinobu takes the best casks of whisky and finishes aging the whisky in Mizunara oak.
