Single serving wines and cocktails are all the rage right now, and we at Vine Arts are HERE for it.

It is becoming less and less shocking to see a can of wine on the shelf these days. Beer is going to have share space in the cooler at barbecues this summer because many producers are making the decision to can their wines; red, white, rose, and fizzy, canned wines are having a moment like never before. In the same vein, spirits producers are making their cocktails easier to enjoy in pre-packaged, pre-mixed formats.

The convenience factor of canned wine is certainly a driving factor in the recent popularity of this packaging option - hauling a couple cans of wine to and from the camp ground is definitely more appealing than the breakable, hefty alternative. Portability and a smaller serving size, typically 250ml-375ml a.k.a 1/3-1/2 of a regular format bottle, makes them the perfect beverage to sip on without committing to opening a whole bottle. The same goes for single serving cocktails; rather than buying all the ingredients needed to make your tasty cocktail of choice, more and more pre-batched options are hitting the shelf. Pour it in a glass, add a garnish and your guests will never know you’re not an expert bartender!

Aside from the convenience of this extremely cute format, the environmental factor of canned beverages is a hugely positive. Cans are more easily recycled than bottles with aluminum being recycled at a much faster rate than glass; the same aluminum from your recycled can could end up back on the shelf within a few months of initial consumption. The lighter weight of these single serving packages means fewer emissions in the transport of these wines.

All in all, we think single serving wines and cocktails are here to stay and we are happy to watch (and sip) as the diversity of products in this format grows and grows! Check our shelves for perfectly portioned sippers all summer long!
