Whether you’re avoiding booze ala Dry January, or your New Year’s Resolution is to keep being as awesome as you were last year (party on, Wayne), it's definitely time to start considering how you’re going celebrate your personal successes this year. What better way to pat yourself on the back than with intriguing beverages shared with fellow booze enthusiasts. We always try out the most interesting stuff, be it beer, spirits, or wine in our tastings. Our staff are an inherently curious bunch, so tastings are their way to dig deep into their fields of interest and share their discoveries with you.
While many of our tastings have already sold out (they go quickly!), do not fear, there are always more tastings on the horizon. Our very own Jesse Willis will be sharing his love of whisk(e)y from many regions around the world. He will be taking you through an awesome line up of whiskies from near and far. Sampling styles and regions both classic and obscure, you’ll be feeling well versed in the nuanced diversity the world of whisk(e)y has to offer.

Our 17th Avenue location finds its home in such a beautiful space. Located in one of the few old buildings still kicking around on 17th Avenue, we’ve been itching to host a tasting there for a while now. Come join us for our inaugural tasting. This one will be a festival-style, walk around tasting with different stations featuring unique Gin producers from both the far reaches of globe and our local pals around the city. If you’re a juniper enthusiast or simply gin-curious, this tasting is for you!

The Basque region in Spain is known for its epicurean delights. It is home to unique beverages that you find few comparisons to around the world. With diverse styles of wine from Txakoli to Rioja, your taste buds won’t know what hit them. Basque sidra is an intriguing style of cider that is difficult to find in this part of the world, but is something that should definitely be tried. Join wine lover & self proclaimed cider-evangelist Klaire McCallum, to talk about and taste a wide range of Basque sips.

In this tasting we will find out why grape growers are willing to toil in the shadow of lumbering giants that could blow their tops any day. Join Andrew MacLeod as we find out why things are heating up for volcanic wines!

Natural wines are a big topic in the wine world right now. There are a couple different opinions about what exactly “natural” means in terms of wine. Does it simply refer to wine that is made in the most sustainable of fashions? Does it describe wines of a specific taste profile as well as a philosophy of production? Jesse Willis will be taking you through a line up of some of our most interesting wines to discuss this hot topic. New school natural producers and old school producers (who have being making wines naturally for hundreds of years) alike, you’re sure to learn a thing or two in this awesome tasting.
