Our first cocktail is The Perfect Sunday provided to us by one of Calgary’s original mixologists, Nathan Head! Nathan founded the Milk Tiger Lounge and is now a partner at Proof Cocktail Bar. He’s also consulted on several cocktail lists in the city. This is a refreshing cocktail that’s a great option to make for your friends and loved ones heading into the season.

The Perfect Sunday features two products from one of our favourite Canadian distilleries, Dillon’s. Their No. 22 Unfiltered gin is made from a base of Niagara wine grapes rather than the usual grain base, and features a crazy blend of 22 botanicals in the process. We’re also using their Cherry Gin liqueur, which has the pure flavour of local cherries. The one piece of work we’ve put in your hands this time around is making a delicious black pepper honey syrup which is an extremely simple process that involves equal parts of honey and water heated up and left to simmer with freshly cracked black pepper from your pantry. Our friends at Two Pine Farms have generously included some of their amazing local honey to make things even easier and more delicious! Add a sprig of rosemary right into your shaker along with the gin, cherry gin, honey syrup and fresh lemon juice, shake it up with ice and top it all off with some Fever Tree Tonic and you’re set for spring!
