Wine and Music: The Sled Island Edition! – May 31st, 2013 $60
Our own Erik Mercier ( aka @grapesandvinyl ) has built a very cool series of tastings creating a feast for the senses with his series of wine and music tastings. This tasting features the music of the Sled Island festival.
Once a year, Calgary plays host to a music festival of epic proportions. Sled Island is renowned for it’s ability to find the most exuberant and innovative artists you’ve probably never heard of. The awe-inspiring mix of genres means there is something for everyone. With the true spirit of adventure under their wings, they try to up the ante every year and this certainly isn’t an exception.
In our own attempt to shatter the norm, we’ve decided to pay homage to this inspirational festival in our own medium: Wine. By pairing wines with music from this years line-up, we’ll attempt to heighten the already tremendous experience, one song at a time. Matching the character, tone, dynamics, instrumentation and tempo with each sip is just the beginning.
Come join us in our tasting room for a night like no other. Six songs, six wines, one new experience. (as always, a charcuterie board from Taste will round off the night)

A feel good experience taking it to a whole new level!!
Will there be a bubbly night? And oysters
is there still space for the Tour de France class?
Do you have any other dates coming up for the wine tastings??
Hi Caroline,
We will likely not be running any public tastings in July or August. We will still be offering private tastings, so if you would like to get a group together and set something up let us know! Just shoot us an email at info@vinearts.ca.
We will be resuming the public tasting schedule in September for the fall season.
Cheers!
Jesse Willis
Any chance for a gin tasting?
Hi Karen, a gin tasting is definitely something we’ve been considering. We are also going to feature gin in our next cocktail competition which will likely take place in May! I’ll be sure to drop you a line once we set a date for a gin tasting.
Cheers,
Jesse
